The best thing about a picture
Last Thursday was my oldest child's 5th Birthday. I cant hardly believe it to be honest. Just the other day he was crawling, walking, saying mamma... then NO! The person responsible for making me a mom and also responsible for making me responsible is now 5! I know everyone says that the time goes quick but it was faster then quick. He has started Kindergarten this year. I think to myself tomorrow he will be in 5th grade and then graduating and then finding his own place in l

The Digger Dash
Last week my kiddos participated in the Digger Dash an even for their school Gold Rush Elementary. The Digger Dash helps raise money for items for the school such as new books and lab equipment. Last year the Digger Dash helped purchase a beautiful gazebo that the students can sit under on hot days. While we are all busy getting our students ready for school purchasing all kinds of back to school things I do want to remind everyone how important it is to help support your p

"A good snapshot keeps a moment from running away"
School has started for most people around the country and our kids are in the careful hands of our amazing educators! You know what that means!!? Well actually it is two fold. 1. For us that work from home (photographers) we actually have time to work!! 2. Even though there seems to be more time during the day when the kids get home it is non stop CRAZY!!! till bedtime. So much is going on and fall is a very busy time but it also allows us to let go. Let go of the summer, you

Mini Session with the Wibergs
Yesterday was a gorgeous fall day here in colorful Colorado! We had a beautiful mini session in Daniel's Park, with breath taking views of mountains. I want to welcome the Wibergs to Colorado. They recently moved here and are enjoying the benefits of moving over a few states and settling in with their 3 beautiful children! (As most of us do when we move our littles! lol) They wanted to make sure their session included the mountains, as their home state did not have any. This

Why Fall is the best for Photography
Why fall is the best time to do family photos

The 3 of Us.
I was lucky enough to get an amazing shoot with Jenna, Steve, and Adeline this weekend. I have known Jenna since about the 6th grade. I met Steve awhile later in college. Jenna and I also worked together in the summer at the local swimming pool. I sat behind her in 9th grade science class and I never thought 20 years later we would be living in the same state (different than the one we grew up in) and I would be taking photos of her family! I feel so fortunate when old frien

A good light.
Outdoor Portrait Photography can be the most rewarding when you use the right lighting. The two photography tips I am encouraging you to focus on first are finding a good location where the lighting is good on your subjects and choosing an angle where there is good lighting on your background as well. Keep I mind as the seasons change so does the light for your photography session. Natural light can make some of the best and most beautiful photos, however sometimes its not en

The Lacey Rose Foundation
Recently I was afforded the opportunity to do headshots at a benefit for The Lacey Rose foundation. What an extraordinary little girl she was! The benefit was at The Glamor bar in down town Denver Colorado. Lacey had so much fun getting her nails and hair done. I walked over to her and she stared at me shyly. I said "Lacey you better go get your picture taken when your all done getting all done up!" She gave me a nervous smile. As we got into the benefit she decided to come o
